Hello Kimberly. So glad you shared your story. Sounds like an eventful decade in your 20's. I am so glad all worked out well and you valve is clicking well. God bless you and thank you for sharing, It is not always easy to find young people whom have had surgery and good to hear from all ages. Heather Kelly

Kimberly Gipson Dolly- I know those feelings as I felt the same. I apologize I haven’t written my story but will. I also chose a prosthetic valve and as you can see that was 25 years ago. I have been on warfarin since as well. For me the clicking/ticking noise was what I had to get used to which happened pretty quick. Have faith in the product and yourself when it comes to your future. Don’t be afraid to ask doctors questions if something doesn’t feel normal especially after you get through the healing process.
You will get a feeling or at least I have as to when my INR is out of its normal settings. Listen to your body.
I finally was able to get a home machine to check my INR rather than going and getting stuck monthly or more. If you can do so I recommend doing so. I think you will be fine and know that any time you have surgery on your heart that you go through a period of what I call weirdness. The surgeons told me that it can cause some short timed depression and anxiety and issues in sleeping and I’ve experienced all of them. Please stay in touch with your doctors as they can help with your going through nervous issues and tears as it is a part of the process. Please take care of yourself and I pray for your recovery process. God Bless You my friend…… Kim
