Hi Mindy! The list shows that you and I are both having our surgeries on Wednesday, 12/2. I have heard good things about Dr. Yarborough and know you are in good hands at Providence. My surgery will be done by Dr. Tribble at Palmetto Heart. We will be less than 3 miles apart having our surgeries at the same time at two great hospitals. I will also keep you in my prayers and check with you as soon as I am able after our surgeries!

Mindy Currence Cheryl, thank you for your note. I don't know about you, but oddly enough I have finally accepted this. I hope you have too. I went through a great deal of anxiety early on, but feel like I am ready. I will pray for you as well, and we will be on our road to recovery very soon! Best wishes!

Hi Mindy, I am touched by your story. My late wife, also had her mitral and aortic valves replaced. She passed away on May 15, 2015, from a massive heart attack, although, she was being treated for congested lung issues. I suspect that the heart attack was triggered by the various side effects of medications she was on. Unfortunately, I cannot prove it. I will keep you in my prayers, and ask God to bless the hands of the surgeon and his team, so that nothing goes wrong. You are right, God is in control, and He has you in the palm of his hands. God will be with you in OR, just trust Him, and believe that your future will be better than your past.

Mindy Currence Julio, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your wife. I cannot imagine the pain you are left with. I have to say, death has been something I've had to accept as a possibility with this surgery. I am okay with dying, because I know I will wake up in the arms of Jesus, but I have struggled with doing things and wondering if it is the last time. I will pray for you Julio, for peace, for comfort, and for resolution. I firmly believe God works in us through our trials in life. He is continually building us through our pain. I encourage you to take all of your pain and loss and channel it into others in need. You have so much to offer, and although placing myself in your shoes, I am not sure how I would receive this advice, I know it is the right thing to do.

Mindy Currence MaryAnne, I hope you are feeling well, and I hope you are released today without any complications. I am actually in Lexington, S.C., my sister lives in Bedford, NH. Is that any where close to you? I would love to talk with you anytime! I have plenty of questions and you will most likely have plenty of down time! Ha! You can email me at currencem@midlandstech.edu, I am working crazy hours and trying to complete my last 8 week master's class in 5.5 weeks before surgery. So, email is my best option at this point.
