Marie Myers Insomnia has been a problem for me also. For me , it started before the surgery, so I think menopause is a part of the problem. Beta blockers and stress may be contributors as well. I have used 15 mg temazepam twice a week for a couple of years now to get a good night's sleep when I am working the next day. It gives me a great sleep with no tiredness in the morning. I tried melatonin, valerian, and other herbals without success . Benadryl 25 mg helps also, but I try to limit doing that also. If I get myself physically exhausted during the day, and avoid naps, I do get better sleep. Good luck in figuring out what will work for you. It is so important to get good sleep!

Susan Lynn I haven't slept well in about 15 years. I can fall asleep, but wake up in a few hours. Tossing and turning was my biggest problem. I was surprised during my recovery when I accidentally took one of the many pillows and placed it on top of hips/ thighs just to get it out of the way. The small amount of weight from the pillow prevented me from moving around. I know some people like weighted blankets, but that would be too hot for me. I have slept much better since using this trick. I also take metoprolol just a few hours before bed and don't have a problem. Hope you find what works for you! 😴

patrizia cioffi Thank you Gerald. Every little thing, change in my vision or light headedness and I begin to worry but realize these things happen post surgery. I've gotten very focused on my physical sensation. So yes, this site is good for seeing what others are going through and have survived.
