Hi Randy, curious to know why you went to the Cleveland Clinic and not Houston? My husband hasn’t seen his surgeon yet for the first opinion but he is in The Methodist in The Woodlands. One option to look into is the medical center in Houston.

Randy, I just saw your question on another post about staying in Cleveland for a couple of days after surgery before flying home to Texas. In my case, my surgery was on a Monday, and I was discharged on Friday. My one-week follow up was on Monday (labs, chest X-ray, appointment with Dr. Gillinov's NP), which I chose to do in Cleveland rather than with my local Texas cardiologist. I will say that I was glad to have the couple of extra days at the hotel to rest before coming home. By Tuesday, I was feeling stronger and found the travel to be easy. I did use a wheelchair in both the Cleveland and Dallas airports, and we flew first class, which was a good decision.
