Hello, Sandy. I am glad you felt you could share your thoughts and feelings here on HeartValveSurgery.com. Michael is very blessed to have you in his life. It sounded like Michael has already had his heart surgery. Everyone's medical situation and recovery are individual. We all go at our own pace. I had open heart surgery February 28, 2011 to repair a bicuspic aortic valve and aneurism. I also have other health issues I am dealing with, so overall recovery may have taken longer than for some others. We can learn and be encouraged by the stories of others, but we cannot compare our recoveries to those of others and expect it to be the same. I do know that this site and its members were a tremendous support to me before and after my surgery. People really care about one another here, and Adam's site offers so much information to help us.
