I have severe aortic stenosis and had surgery on April 12th. It was much easier than I thought, I was in ICU for one day then moved to a regular room for 3-1/2 days then home. I start cardiac rehab on May 8th and look forward to getting moving again. I can tell you that everything will be okay and you will feel much better after your valve is replaced.

Susan Roberts Hi Wanda, I discussed the surgery date with my Doctor, but I actually told him what would work for me as the surgery is not an emergency. Also, now that the tests are done, the Doctors review during a valve committee meeting to determine which procedure is best. The Doctor has an assistant who helped tell me which dept to ask for the CD's. I got most in the imaging dept where I had the CT scan but had to go to another dept for the TEE cd. Good luck tomorrow.

Wanda Blackwood Thanks! I'm still kinda nervous about it all. This community has helped a lot. Still trying to decide on what valve to go with. Don't like the thoughts of Coumadin for the rest of my life, but don't want a second surgery either 😕. Kinda feels like being between a rock and a hard place....lol. Thanks for your help.

Susan Roberts Same here, I would rather not do the Coumadin. My surgeon said that by the time I might need another, the TAVR will be routine, so you may want to ask about that.
