I also watched Cuauhetemoc's video. Truly a great birthday gift! I couldn't help but tear up a bit. I can relate to his story as well. It was scary but as he said in the video the emotional aspect is more difficult than the physical. Know that technology has greatly progressed! You will do fine...take one day at a time and as Cuauhetemoc said in the video, listen to your heart! I did and I'm fine now. Take care! All the best to you in your heart journey!

I also live in Illinois, but in McHenry. I grew i up in Schaumburg. I go to Northwestern downtown to Dr Rigolin for my 6 month echos and apts. I have not spoken to your surgeon, but did have a video visit with Dr. Malaisrie about 2 year ago now. I have not been scheduled for surgery yet, as it is primarily my tricuspid valve and they tell me I am still in wait and watch mode. It is moderate to severe.
Please keep me posted on your journey and if there is anything I can help with, I am here for you as far as listening and/or helping you find out any information you may need or want.
