      It's a giant step in the right direction. I survived two mitral valve repairs, one in 2010 and the second this past October. Right now I am more energetic than ever before, and there is no trace of the surgery with the exception of a fading scar. Recovery is different for everyone. I was back to work in 30 days. Lots of pillows .
A few loose fitting cotton t- shirts , sky blue because the colour cheered me up ! The fabric was kind to my healing wound . 
A good sense of humour .

I got the same diagnosis in September 22 and spent lots of time researching my condition and thinking about when to have surgery. I have even watched videos of the different procedures. Since I'm asymptomatic and healthy, I decided to get the surgery sooner rather than later so I have more energy and can enjoy life more fully. I'm having minimally invasive mitral valve repair surgery on April 25th. I have a lot of confidence in my surgeon who does many repair operations on a regular basis.
