Valerie Herndon-Vitarella No, it was full sternotomy. My surgeon said that once you have the "minimally invasive" approach, there is scar tissue and the right lung heals to the chest wall so it would cause lung damage to go in that way again.

Valerie Herndon-Vitarella Thank you, Steven. From your journal posts, it sounds like you are well on the way to a full recovery! I think the driving part and going stir crazy will drive me nuts. Since my first surgery was minimally invasive, I was allowed to drive in 1 week. I am told 6 weeks for this one.
