Hope today is better for you. Stress is not good for us and everyone reacts differently. Remember you had major surgery and it will take time for the body to recover. I know from experience that it is hard to be patient. Listen to your body.
Love you, Sandy

Wendy Evans Thanks Sis, I am patient with everyone except myself! This is the hard part, harder than the actual surgery! Waiting for my body to recover. Pain is better today, I just need to remember to take the Tylenol 3x per day and it keeps it tolerable.

Hi Wendy, to be caught by this kind of unexpected diagnosis is allways brutal. The same happened to me this summer. I had to wait 4 months for the op and as all the others can tell you, the waiting is the worst! I got the call to present myself at the hospital on Sunday, 15 October, checked in on Monday, had to wait an extra day because of to emergency ops and was operated Wednesday, October 18, our wedding anniversary. The first few days are fairly rough but even with a few bumps in the road you may of course always encounter, it will be going upwards and onwards from there. I wish you all the best, the doctors and nurses will be there for you!

Hi Wendy. Just wanted to wish you well on your upcoming surgery. I can relate with you when things start moving fast. I never knew I had a heart murmur. The PA who does the wellness in-home appointments came on April 28th to my home and she said I had a heart murmur. No one ever told me that before. I had my yearly wellness check on June 6th and after over 30 years with this doctor he never said anything about my heart murmur so I told him what the PA said so he checked me and said "hmmmmm!" He set up an appointment locally to have an echocardiogram the next week. Once those results came in he set me up with a cardiologist. When I saw him - he turned out to be a cardiac surgeon who very bluntly with no warning or anything said I needed a new aortic valve and would I like a mechanical or a biological....from there I was so upset that the next day I thought I was having a heart attack and went to the Urgent Care clinic in my neighborhood and they rushed me to the hospital in na ambulance. When I got there they decided they would have to observe me overnight - so they did a CT Scan and some other test and I stayed overnight. A couple of weeks later I had a heart catherization. I knew I didn't want to have the original surgeon who saw me operate on me and told him I wanted a second opinion. Thankfully after doing some research on this website I found a doctor who I thought sounded really good in Charlottesville, VA - about 75 miles from my home. I had the surgery on Sept 26th and am recovering at home. It will be one month tomorrow. I have done very well with few problems.....once you get through the surgery and the discomfort and get back home you start to do bette - just don't push yourself or it can cause other problems. I did a little too much around the house 2 days ago and I'm having muscle pain across my upper chest and arms....so be very careful you don't strain yourself after the surgery. I want to wish you well and hope that everything goes well for you. God bless.
