Hi all, it's been awhile since last update post. My surgery was March 28, 31 days in recovery. Doing very well, I can attest to the other OHS veterans that the waiting before surgery was definitely the hardest part. Once surgery was over I shifted focus on recovery and rehab. I've actually enjoyed this part of the journey. Getting better every day and can tell the difference in my strength and endurance improving. I've attached a video of me getting on my rowing machine on day 17, felt great! I've been slowly progressing to my stationary bike as well. Along with continued dog walks and gym workouts. I gotta say the rigid sternal fixation method to close the sternum back is a game changer. Definitely made a difference in my recovery time, very little pain and pretty much normal mobility.
