My surgeon is going to go minimally invasive but not using the robot.

Petey Bello Awesome David - they healed well. I had a mini thoracotomy mitral repair & I have a 4 1/2" across the top of my breast plus all the other lil ones (not to forget the 4" scare in my groin). Not complaining - just jealous - lol ....
I'm am thankful because mine was a difficult repair & my surgeon uses his hands. (He said he is quicker with his hands)

David Alejandro Believe it, I only have the expected pain on the incisions on my right rib area. 5 Small incisions for the tools to go through between the ribs.. No rib pain either. Amazing! Thank God for allowing man to develop such technology, and it will only continue to improve. I will soon post a "Smiling Scar Selfie :)

Mine was post MV repair (30% of cases, thought best to warn you) and settled after a couple of weeks with beta blockers and Rivaroxaban. It's manageable once the rate is controlled but you will feel exhausted. I now have multiple ectopics which are less bothersome.

If you're heading towards surgery hopefully they can do a maze or ablation while they are in there.

Tim Goff The afib is no fun for sure and I hope you get a thorough check up. My afib was caused by a swollen heart from the leaky mitral valve so I wouldn't hesitate getting a very thorough evaluation.
