Terrie Syvertsen Good day to you Eleanor! I think you are doing amazing with your cardio-rehab and I hope things continue to go well for you! I am still without a monitored or program with "Kaiser" although I have repeatedly asked for a program that everyone I know in the community seems to have been set up with after surgery. I have been told I will receive a packet now of what exercises to do and for how long and I feel kicked to the curb. I have written to and talked with people at Kaiser, they have listened and I am told I can have two visits with a dietician and 2 visits to learn about cardiac care but this doesn't give me the confidence of joining in a class where you are being monitored for heart rate and blood pressure while you are working out. Since I have experienced SVT's and a minor A-fib episode(ended in the ER) I find it difficult moving forward with any assuredness that I might have an episode while out on my own and end up in the ER again. I have already worn a heart monitor for 30 days wherein I showed two minor episodes of both a-fib and an svt. Since then I have been left on my own and I guess I am supposed to "cross my fingers". New valve is working well according to the recent read of my echocardiogram but I guess at the age of 65 I would feel a lot more comfortable having the monitoring most other post-oper's have gotten with their specifically set up cardio rehab. Anyone else with Kaiser have the same experience or any advice? Would love to hear from you! Eleanor, keep up the good work and have a great and Happy Holiday Season. Your friend, Terrie, Hunter and Kat!

Lenore Mitchell Eleanor - I just read all of your posts, and must say that not only do you write well, but your story is so helpful to those of us who are in the waiting mode. I especially appreciated your comments on cardiac rehab and your gradual increase in activity. Thanks so much! Also love the photo of the little pooch peaking out - very cute.
