Here's a bed wedge. I don't have a recliner but this has been fabulous. Add your pillows as needed.

Susan Ericsson Yes, the first time I lay down flat I could see as soon as my back hit the bed that flat wouldn't work! This is great, comes in different sizes, allows you to stay in your bed and you can move it to the couch for a change of scene.

LaVonne Neff Yes! I bought two wedges of different thicknesses after my valve + aneurysm repair 3 years ago. I'd put one behind my back (and cover it with pillows) and one under my knees. They made an enormous difference in my comfort level. And I still use them sometimes for reading in bed!
