Suzanne Hunter You are welcome. This time last year I found out I had aortic stenosis and needed heart surgery. I had to wait about 12 weeks all up counting all the echos and blood work and teeth stuff etc so really the waiting was the hardest part so I have been thinking of you today as you wait. There is light at the end of this waiting tunnel and life is so good once you have had your surgery and you are home again . Hang in there the count down is on.Kia Kaha. Be strong.

Denise Cockayne Thank you soooo much for your note about Heart Surgery, mechanical valves etc....I am having an angiogram in Melb next week, have to stay 2 nights due to my cancer and monitoring me etc.
You sound like you did so so well. Which is ever encouraging for me as I do not seem to have bad symptoms, people look at me like I am crazy to even think about heart surgery but my cardiologist at the Epworth and Peter Mac say I have regurgitation and high pulmonary pressure and my heart is enlarging. I cough a bit at night and if I walk up hill get out of breath, probably a bit like you I just feel really unfit but I am 61.
Did you have open heart? All the people on the site seem to recover and be home so quick? I will be having 2 or 3 valves done and will be like you on warfarin etc how do you find that? I have been on a lot of meds since my surgery for neuro endocrine cancer 8 years ago and been pretty good till now. My cardio says I will have to be 2 weeks in hospital as the anesthetic sends of the chemicals that make my sort of cancer so I will be in ICU for a while then a ward. Just not coping well with the thoughts as it was bad experience last time and I am worried about the amount of chest pain. I wish I could have had the robotic tiny incisions but he says no way. You sound like you live a busy full life now. Did it take you long to recover. I am not the greatest walker in the world. I would love to hear any advice you have for me as I have only heard from a couple of people on here.
God bless you for writing and sharing
love Denise xx
