Diagnosed with aortic regurgitation when I was 9 due to rheumatic heart disease. I received Penicillin shots every month until I was 20. Then in 2014, I started to become symptomatic just short of my 21st birthday. I had my aortic valve replacement a few months afterwards. Then late 2018 I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse, although my bioprosthetic aortic valve was still in great condition. To buy me some time we decided to try for a Mitraclip in March of 2019 after I had started to become really symptomatic. Unfortunately, the procedure was unsuccessful as I developed a complication during the procedure. I had my second open heart surgery to replace both my mitral and aortic valve 2 weeks after on 3/29/2019.
