About Me (In My Own Words)
My favorite doctor heard a heart murmur for the first time in my life five years ago (I'm 67), I have had regular echos since. All were diagnosed as insignificant to minor stenosis. This year things have changed to "severe" bordering on "critical" and I am planning on traditional open heart surgery to replace my bicuspid, severely stenosed aortic valve at Providence-St.Vincent Hospital, Portland, Oregon on June 25.
When I asked the doctor "what could I have done to prevent this condition?" the reply was "not been born". When I added the question "what could I have done to not make it worse", the answer was "not gotten old".
I am thrilled to have found Adam and this resource and will check in regularly as things progress!
