About Me (In My Own Words)
I have a bicuspid aortic valve with severe aortic stenosis. We have been monitoring it since my late 30's. In the last 2 years, I have progressed from being mildly stenotic to severe. Scheduled to have my surgery on October 2nd 2024......So, here we go!!!!
And here I am over 5 months later with a new aortic tissue valve! I FEEL GOOD!!! Not going to lie, its a rough process mentally and physically. But, I cant brag enough about my surgeon, Dr. Christopher Malaisrie and his medical team at Northwestern Hospital-Chicago. I was fortunate enough to have a mini-thoracotomy and recovered in about 3 weeks! I think back now and all I can say is "Wow, I did it!"
