About Me (In My Own Words)
I’ve been diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation my entire life. In February 2018 I just found out, at 20 years old, I am severely symptomatic and need a repair. I’ve seen 5 surgeons, none of whom feel confident in their abilities to repair my valve (it’s severely prolapsed and being compared to a “Barlow’s type valve”) but after being referred to Cleveland Clinic I am cautiously optimistic and mostly worried about getting back to college this fall.
