About Me (In My Own Words)
Had mitral valve prolapse for 20 years just never took it serious until about 2 years ago when I stayed having heart palpitations and my heart would beat so had that I felt like the bed was moving at night. Starting being tires a lot. My husband really sick with cancer so after my heart cath the surgeon told me to take care of my husband and when the time came I would know it was time for surgery. My husband past away 1 and half years ago so after 2 heart cath sand several echoes I scheduled my surgery. I was terrified and spent several visits talking to my surgeon. I am 5 weeks out from my surgery and doing good. Been having home health nurse and rehab at home. Monday I start outpatient heart rehab. My surgery went well I just had rough time waking up and they had to leave breathing tube in 15 hours. The pain meds made me sick and for 3 days I was very nauseated. Had the surgery on Thursday and came home on Tuesday. Some pain around incision but control it with Tylenol. Will be glad when Dr says I can sleep on side
