About Me (In My Own Words)
I was asymptomatic for the last three years and was advised by my cardiologists to wait for symptoms before replacing my mitral valve. My husband was directed by a friend to Adam Pick's website which he followed regularly. In doing so he found that you shouldn't wait for symptoms and look into repairing rather than replacing the Mitral Valve. We decided to make an appointment with Dr. David Adams at Mount Siani Hospital in NYC. After our consultation with Dr. Adams, we scheduled Mitral Valve Repair surgery for August 24, 2021.
My surgery went very well for the Mitral Valve Repair, and, at the same time, they repaired my Triscupid Valve. I'm six weeks post-op and very happy to report I'm feeling great. I'm getting back into my routine of walking and working out and hope to get back to tennis in November. My scar seems to be getting smaller each week, and, I have a bump on the center of the bone above my breasts that I'm hoping will continue to get smaller.
I've had a very good outcome thus far and hope to continue feeling better each week!
