About Me (In My Own Words)
Was born with a bicuspidal aortal valve. At 18 was told that would have a replacement surgery by 40. I made it almost to 42. Unfortunately, had to replace the aortal and mitral valves + put a graft on the aorta. The problem: I have a freaking grand-father tick-tack clock in my chest now. People can hear it from 4m (13ft) away in the quiet room. I can’t sleep after the surgery. They give me powerful drugs, but they hardly help yet, 5 days after the surgery. The docs say that 95% of the people get used to it eventually. But what about the other 5%??? God help me!
