About Me (In My Own Words)
About 4 years ago my GP heard a heart mumur. I went to a cardiologist in Houston and was diagnosed with mild Aortic Stenosis. The diameter was 1.6. I have been seeing the cardiologist regularly since and the diameter is now 1.1. I have been told that heart replacement is not normally done until the diameter is 1 or less than1 unless I start having symptoms. The only symptom I have is tightness in my chest when walking at a pace faster than 3 mph. The tightness goes away when I slow down or stop. Inclines or carrying more than 25 pounds also causes this tightness sometimes. This tightness always goes away when I stop. I am use to being active but will have to slow down until the valve is replaced. Any suggestions or similar situations?
