About Me (In My Own Words)
I have Had BAVS since in my mom’s womb, diagnosed in March, 2000, when I was 41. Currently my aortic stenosis is very severe & my referral to my cardiac thoracic surgeon was just approved. Waiting for surgeon’s office to call and schedule my pre-surgery appointment.
My 93 year old widowed mother, and my two adult children live near Seattle, WA, as do most of my family and friends. Since April, 2017, hubby & I have lived in Richland, WA (Southern Central WA State). This is why I am having my surgery in Western WA State, so my family and friends can visit me.
I have written my will, advanced directive and durable medical power of attorney, a letter to my PCP and a letter to my cardiac surgeon.
I have researched services that I will need after surgery, purchased certain items that will assist me to recover at home, per Adam’s book (Thanks Adam!), hubby has also read Adam’s book.
Now, I am completing a few small tasks at home, while waiting to schedule my surgery. I am at peace and am preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best outcome after surgery.
I am 59; a disabled domestic Goddess wife to my hubby of 3 years and 8 months. Due to other worsening chronic health/pain/mobility issues I have applied for SSD (in second year of a 3-5 year appeal process). I have a lawyer this time to help me.
