About Me (In My Own Words)
I have no apparent symptoms but my echocardiogram shows borderline severe aortic stenosis. I had an episode of atrial fibrillation requiring emergency room intervention to control a couple of months ago and that led cardiologist to advise going ahead with aortic valve surgery which is now scheduled for April 9, 2018. I do not require any other procedure like stent insertion or bypasses and have no other health issues so the doctors feel I am a low-risk candidate that must have SAVR instead of TAVR. I’m more than a bit nervous and worried about the surgery and recovery afterwards.
