About Me (In My Own Words)
I was scared half to death! Really. I watch a detailed on line video of the actual surgery and I was terrified. Thank God I went to an awesome hospital and had one of the best surgeons in the Country. I have nothing but good things to say about the care that I received. Top notch. Not one problem. Was home in 4 days.
Here is my advice if you are waiting to go:
#1. Do your homework. Find the best hospital & sugeon that you can. It means everything
#2. Remember that it is nowhere’s near as bad as you might think. You will be asleep and the heart angels will surround you.land protect you. When you wake up, they will be right there with you and you will not be in pain. No kidding!
#3. The vent and all of the other tubes are removed easily. Quick. Don’t worry
#4. They do this operation often. Have faith in them and do whatever they tell you to do.
#5. When you get home. Sleep in s recliner. I ordered one that I could rent for s month. They brought it, set it up and picked it up when I was done. $125.00 a month.
#6. Everyone heals at their own pace. My breasts were burning and numb for 6 months. I couldn’t walk more then 2 blocks for a couple of months. I just couldn’t do it! I didn’t sleep back in my bed for 3 months. Too uncomfortable. I took Vicodin and alternated with Tylenol for the first month then moved to just Tylenol. I was bloated and they gave me Ladin and potassium to help with that for 3 months.
I started cardiac rehab 3 months after surgery and was very slow when I started. It helped a lot.
No way was I completely better in 8 weeks or 10 weeks and I did not push myself. I took naps and pampered myself. I’m 68 years old. I was inno hurry and I paced myself.
You will do fine!! Be good to yourself. Love and care for your body. Meditate and listen to beautiful music. Wear soft pajamas and put some great oils on your scar after a few months. May you have light and peace and love. God bless
