About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with a mitral stenosis when I was forty years old. For the last eighteen years I have been followed closely by my cardiologist. In May 2014 a heart catherization was performed. The results revealed it was time to consult a surgeon. My cardiologist told me my arteries are in pristine condition. I am so thankful for that as my father passed away at age 46 of coronary artery disease. The surprising news was that I need to have a mitral valve repair or mitral valve replacement.
After doing tons of hours of research I learned about Adam's book. That was a true blessing. Then I signed up to be part of the heart valve family that Adam created. I ordered Adam's book and could not put it down. This book is absolutely a must. It really has helped me to prepare for the surgery.
My surgery is scheduled for July 29th. I am looking forward to connecting with friends on the site. As I begin this journey I realize there will be bumps in the road, but will try to stay positive. During this time I will post any information that may help others that may have similar situations.
Have a blessed day and if I can be of any help, please feel free to email me.
Mary
