About Me (In My Own Words)
I had a heart murmur since they found it at 8 years old. At 40 had a routine checkup and everything was fine. I suggested an Echo cause they hadnt checked the heart. OH NO urgent the cardiologist calls the next day. I was on a business trip and told him i felt fine as I have had it all my life..... 8 years later the aortic valve was opening at 3cm and it was time. at that time TAVR was not an option so they cracked me like a crab. I got the Edwards Life Sciences Moo Valve. They said it might last 10-12 years average. A smoker all my life I quit for good two weeks before the surgery. Fast forward 15 years later, the most recent echo shows slight regurgitation. I have not met with a new cardiologist yet as we moved and Im hoping that TAVR is a good option as I am relatively young still. Im also hoping that this existing valve will last another year or so as Im hoping that the next valve will be my last. Good luck to all those who are getting it done soon and thanks for this forum Adam. i havent used it much but have been lurking until I needed to get info and or share....
