About Me (In My Own Words)
This is for my husband, who has lived with chronic A-Fib and a leaky aortic valve for years. Over the past year, he became more tired and out of breath just walking a short distance. He's been overweight (300+), diabetic (non-insulin), hypertensive, etc. He credits his long life (77 Yrs old) to good genes, certainly not healthy lifestyle! Well, now the valve is leaking more, the aortic root is also dilated and he's got aortic regurgitation and enlarged left ventricle. We've had lots of tests, and waiting to hear about possible surgery. Tomorrow we go for an echocardiogram (down his throat to heart) to get better pictures; because of his "linebacker" physique, previous echo test was OK, but not great. More to come.
