About Me (In My Own Words)
Just two days after being admitted to the hospital with a dangerously low blood count, and receiving 5 units of blood, I was diagnosed with Severe Aortic Stenosis. I was advised to have heart valve replacement surgery before I left the hospital. Sutnned, confused, and scared I underwent Aortic Valve Replacement surgery on January 25,2013. By the grace of my God, Father and Saviour Jesus Christ, I survived the 8 and 1/2 hour proceedure and all that was to follow with no pain meds due to a long history of severe allergic reactions. I am a living testemony of just how great our God is. He placed an amazingly gifted and compassionate surgeon, Dr. Robert Riley at my bedside at just the right time. Had it not been for a very alert and aware hospital physician, Dr. Hindosh and an amazing team of physicians and nurses,I may not be here today. I still have a regurating Mitral valve, but it is not considered quite bad enough for surgery. As I am only 57 years young, and I have a tissue transplant, I know that I am looking at a possible replacement surgery in the furture. I have told Dr. Riley that I plan to out live this valve! To say thank you to my husband the love of my life, it would never enough. To my very supporative family I could not have endured this without you and to all of our friends and the staff at El Dorado thank you for the countless number of prayres and support that you have given. It does not go unnoticed.
