About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born with congenital aortic valve stenosis. It was a unicuspid, similar to a bicuspid, valve. I had a Ross Procedure in 1999, which lasted about 10 years. The aortic root began to slowly dilate, and the aortic valve progressed to severe regurgitation. There was an attempt to repair the valve in 2010, which lasted about 2 years. In 2013, they replaced my aortic valve with a bovine bioprosthetic valve, a St. Jude Trifecta.
