About Me (In My Own Words)
I had a minimally invasive mitral value repair- Dr. Wood was able to repair it and place an annuloplasty ring around my mitral value.
I knew I would have to have heart surgery since I was a young child. I always felt I would die from this surgery. Obviously, I didn't.
Last year I had to see a new cardiologist, since the one I had been seeing for 10 years, crossed the Dr. patient boundaries. The new cardiologist was surprised at the "sound" of my murmur. I had all the test run and was told 2-5 years I would have to have mitral value repair/replaced. I wanted to meet my surgeon that was recommended to me. When I saw him, his comment "was why have this hanging over your head-and he was correct lets do it this (Last) summer.I am glad I did. No longer am I worried about my value "exploding. Recovery has been good.
I am finding the nerves in my right leg are still repairing themselve and wonder if anyone else has experienced this?
