About Me (In My Own Words)
I was told I had a heart murmur during a trip to the ER. I followed up with my primary care physician to confirm. I was then referred to a cardiologist. Had a series of test and out patient procedures done. I was then told I would have to undergo open heart surgery to repair my heart valve. The total time from initial diagnosis of heart murmur to surgery was under 3 months. I had almost no time for it all to sink in before I had to decide on a surgery date. This has truly been an experience for me. I thank God that I am here to tell my story!!!
