About Me (In My Own Words)
In the fall of 2008 I started having severe heart palpations and saw my first cardiac surgeon. At first it was thought to be stressed related (I had a high stress job and travelled with my job) but after a stress test and Cardiac MRI found out I had two issues with my heart. The first issue were palpitations that were a result of an electrical issue RVOT (right ventricular outflow tachycardia) and the second issue a Bicuspid Aorta Valve causing with Ascending Aortic dilation. I had RVOT Ectopy Radio Heart Ablation Frequency Ablation June 2011 which fixed my heart palpitations and have been monitored since 2008 for the Bicuspid Aortic Valve and Aortic Aneurysm.
My latest Cardiac MRI was April 2023 and I met with the cardiac surgeon to discuss results and at the time he wanted me to have a CT SCan to see clearer a plan for surgery and that was done July 2023. The surgeon wanted to do elective surgery within 3 months to prevent dissection of the Aorta. The Bicuspid Valve is working fine and no symptons of stenosis or palpitations. I am asymptomatic, my blood pressure is good and suggestion is to go with a Dacron graft to replace the segment of the Aorta that is enlarged.
I am at the stage of looking into second opinions and seeing how others are doing with similar surgery or potential surgery to determine what my next steps are.
