About Me (In My Own Words)
Hello, I have radiation associated heart valve disease caused by radiation treatments for lymphoma in 1980. I had aortic valve replacement (tissue valve) in 2016. Unfortunately, the mitral valve now has severe stenosis. They can't do another open-heart surgery due to the radiation damage so I am scheduled for a TAVR Valvuloplasty to open the mitral valve and in a few years maybe they can do a TAVR Mitral Valve replacement. I'm 62 years old so I'm not a candidate for that right now. I'm new to this website but I would be happy to hear from anyone.
