Send Susan a NoteAbout Me
I was diagnosed with aortic stenosis when I was a young child. I was always told that one day possibly when I was in my 50's or 60's I would have to have the valve replaced. I will be turning 53 in May.
I have always seen a cardiologist and have had echo's done to check progress. I had an echo done in February. My cardiologist wanted to put me on a 6 months plan instead of yearly. I decided to go to see a heart surgeon in March to get a surgeons opinion.
After a lot of research I decided to go to Columbia Presbyterian in NYC. I chose Dr. Borger, who after looking at my reports found it was time to have my valve replaced. I am scheduled to have my surgery on May 27th.
I am trying not to think about it but its very hard to do. I am scared and nervous. I came across this site during my researching and now I don't feel alone.
