About Me (In My Own Words)
I was born and raised in a small village in Philippines where hospitals and medical doctors are far from reached. I never knew I had Mitral Stenosis until I've moved to the big city and had the access for medical care. I had my PTMC in 2009. However, 6 years later in March 2015, I've experienced cardiac failure and although I went better with treatment I always had shortness of breath since then. So, last month in 14 December 2015, I've finally decided to have my mitral valve replacement surgery done in New Zealand. Although the surgery went very successful, I was rushed to the emergency 2 days after discharged due to the fluid around my heart and lungs. It felt good after the procedure. And now barely 4 weeks post/op, I am still struggling. Sometimes I am having shortness of breath that landed me in the hospital for 4 days recently. I just keep going. Keep my heart tickin!
