About Me (In My Own Words)
In ‘94 I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Stenosis and Aortic Insufficiency due to Rheumatic Fever as a child.
Had a stroke when I was 28 years old and have had a few TIAs throughout the years .
I went into Afib in 2012, which resulted in the need of 3 ablations and several cardioversions throughout the years as well.
Was able to manage my symptoms for years with medication but now at age 54, my valves are at the point of needing to be replaced.
My open heart surgery is scheduled this week on 02/29/2024 with Dr. David Adams at Mount Sinai in NYC.
