About Me (In My Own Words)
My husband's story:
My husband is a 42 year old daddy of 5 BOYS :). 3 we have together 2 from his previous wife. 6 years ago my husband had a physical and the doctor order a echo, the echo results proved that he needed a TEE test. When the cardiologist preformed the test he said no surgery was needed. That was that :/.
Fast forward to February 6th 2016 we where at our oldest son's wrestling tournament, my husband starts having chest pain and is white! He goes to our local emergency department they run tons of test and find nothing but schedule him for echocardiogram on Monday, he has the test Monday morning Monday evening his family doctor calls and says we need to pick a cardiologist for a follow up the echo showed moderate regurgitation. It took a week or 2 for us to get in with the cardiologist (we picked the cardiologist who read the echo) our first with him he told us that Joe would need another TEE test to confirm what he thought but he believed the regurgitation was so severe that he would need open heart surgery to repair it. So we scheduled the TEE test, it was done a couple weeks later. TEE test confirmed what his cardiologist believed to be true and also finds a small PFO 4.5mm :( So Dr. Hager says that he is going to refer him to a surgeon! I thought he was the surgeon as well :(. I immediately start calling this surgeon's office trying to find out when he will have a appointment, when I'm told the surgeon will want a heart cath before he even meets with my husband. So back to calling Dr. Hager. Anyways his heart Cath was preformed on 3/24 and we finally met Dr. Sampath on 3/28 only for him to tell us because this is not a emergency surgery my husband first needs dental clearance!!!! By this point I am exhausted, my husband is beyond exhausted he just wants to go back to work. So he goes to the dentist on 4/7 and does NOT get dental clearance because he had 3 active abscess with no pain and no swelling ( he was in a car wreck in '13 and has metal plates in his face it affected his nerves) so then we had to schedule a appointment for oral surgery. Joe had all of his teeth pulled on 4/12! He is recovery well from that and will be going back to the dentist tomorrow to hopefully get dental clearance so that he can have a surgery date after tomorrow! This has been a emotional rollercoaster I can't wait for him to be on the healthy side of this journey!!!! I'm so thankful that I found this page. I actually found it through a Facebook page another member shared the link to this page and I'm so grateful!
