Susan Killian This is an excellent site, I don't know how I would have gotten through it without. I am 4 weeks out of Open Heart Surgery for a mitral valve repair with a ring and 8 new chords. What is your issue? 4 weeks out and I am feeling like my old self, wound is good. So you can do this.

I've learned so much from them, including details you won't hear from the medical professionals. Given time, you will be well prepared for whatever heart valve surgery might be in your future. I see the cardiologist tomorrow for my first consult. I went from a mild to severe aortic stenosis diagnosis within 1 year's time and am pretty freaked out right now, but it will be a relief to know what I'm up against. Anyway, again, thank you all SO much for your replies and well wishes. I'm so glad to have found this website and all of the information and personal experiences it shares. I have read Adams's book, once, and am starting on my second time through. Tomorrow I see the cardiologist for my first consult and find out what's what. I went from a "mild" to "severe" aortic stenosis diagnosis within a year's time, so I'm a little nervous about what to expect.
