Since my surgery I have had ocular migraines - 2 to 4 a month - short duration. I never had one before my surgery. Now I have occasional double vision - every 6-8 weeks lasting only a few minutes. My optometrist sees nothing of concern. I saw an ophthalmologist - he had no concerns. I am scheduled for a carotid duplex to see if there are vascular issues. If not, I'll be headed to a neurologist. Has anyone had visual disturbances after heart surgery? It is scary.

Rose Madura I did. I had auras before and after surgery. Sometimes they bring on a migraine, sometimes not. For me, they weren't scary, just an inconvenience. My vision was altered dramatically after surgery and the normal change in eyeglass prescription was huge and not a slight change. I explained to the optometrist about heart surgery and being in Amiodadrone and he said he sees similar results in other heart patients.
