Had staples removed yesterday. MD says healing well BP normal ,pulse has dropped below 100, hears no regurgitation. Lost 3 more lbs. Going into 4 week. Still feels like a,mack truck hit me. Removed sjome of my restrictions. Waiting to turn this corner. Thanks again for your support.

I felt like I turned a corner at about 6 weeks. It sounds like it's going well...keep up the courage!
I felt like a mack truck hit me too, and also turned corner at 6 weeks like Barbara! One day at a time.....wishing you a speedy recovery!

Had surgery three was ago. I feel exhausted just moving from our end chair to another. Appetite is poor. Started cardiac rehab. Hope I start to feel better. Thanks for your post

I hear you Barbara. I was exhausted for a long time after my mitral replacement. Recovery takes time. Your heart has been through a lot. Getting to the mitral valve is a lot harder than getting to the aortic valve, so your heart has had more trauma. I hope that... Read more.
I had a mitral valve repair 10 weeks ago. I was very exhausted for weeks. I would get up, have breakfast, take a shower, then then go back to bed for a nap. This lasted for a few weeks- the level of exhaustion I felt was shocking to me, I... Read more.
It was a lot harder than I expected too, but you will start feeling better. Try to push yourself a little, even if it's in short spurts with large rest periods. Cardiac rehab should help move you along.
3 weeks is not very long ago. Recovery time varies widely so no need to worry you are not going to recover eventually. Feel free to try some menu items, desserts, whatever that are appealing just to spark the appetite.
Thanks to all of you for your much need encouragement. As you and my surgeon say. After the 5th week slowly you will begin to feel better.
My body told me if I was doing too much during the first 3 months. Lots of rest helps the body heal. Focus on the things that improve- longer walks- more activity- better sleep- less pain, etc! Blink twice and you will be looking back at your recovery feeling so... Read more.
