2 years post Aortic Valve Surgery and having some arrhythmia. I had the same irregular heart beat just after surgery but it only lasted a few days. Trying to determine if anyone else is going through the same thing post surgery and how serious I should take it. Jumps around about every 2 to 3 minutes of normal heart rhythm. Any input is appreciated.

Marie Myers I would get an appointment with your cardiologist. They might want you to wear a monitoring device for a few days to get a diagnosis on the arrhythmia. I also had AVR 2 years ago. Fortunately for me, the arrhythmias I experienced became less and less with time. Are you on any beta blockers like metoprolol? The doc kept me on a 12.5 mg dose of metoprolol since the surgery. It does have a heart slowing and antiarrythmic effect as well as a BP lowering effect.
