I had very good news this week to learn that my Insurance has pre authorized my surgery in NY by Dr. David Adams at Mt. Sinai Hospital. I had my cardiac catheter done this week and will be on my way to NY on May 3, for surgery on May 6 for Mitral valve repair. I have so many mixed emotions, but am so very happy I will be going to my surgeon of choice. It truly eases my anxiety knowing that and with my symptoms becoming more noticeable I want to get this past me. Thank you to everyone for sharing their stories, as it is helpful to know that others have been through this and I have more knowledge of what to expect.

Yesterday I spent hours on the phone with my insurance company. I'm feeling more optimistic now about getting coverage for my surgery on May 6. My patient advocate at the surgeon's office is so nice and is doing all she can to get pre-certification for me. Staying away from anxiety Is so important as I go into AFIB so easily from that. This website is wonderful and I like reading about all the stories and can relate to a lot of them. The support Is priceless. Day by day countdown.... :))
