Rose Madura Hi Dev. It is normal to be anxious. Do research online and you will find that the technology gets better and better. I had my surgery in 2017 and feel so much better. The journey is not easy but you can do it. Be thankful that they found it and it can be fixed. Long term survival is normal. I'm more physically active than ever and I had the surgery when I was 59. There are many young people who have done extremely well. Your anxiety is normal but nearly everyone on this site will say waiting is the worst part. Choose your valve and surgeon with careful thought. You will do well.

Marie Myers I was very anxious also when I learned I needed open heart surgery. I had trouble sleeping and my blood pressure was very high when I first met the surgeon. I did find that listening to calming meditation videos and yoga helped me. I eventually asked my doctor for a prescription sleeping pill which helped me tremendously. I am now almost 4 years post surgery, but I do remember how difficult it was emotionally in the pre surgery time.
I did very well with the surgery, and was actually back to work part time at 8 weeks. Recovery requires patience and time. Things will get better day by day, and bit by bit. You will get your strength and stamina back; it just takes time. Wishing you peace! You can get through this difficult time.

You'll be out of the hospital before you know it. When you feel up to it, take short walks in the hallways. You will be back to your normal activities, soon. Stay positive! You can do this! ❤
