Jeff Williams My rehab nurse (30 years in cardiac rehab) says that it's usually around 3 months when it starts to come down for whatever reason. Mine was almost dead on that number, still higher than pre surgery but way down from what it was right after.

Well, I had a six bypass heart surgery September 22nd. Blood pressure dropped the next day. They gave me 3 units of blood, and cut me open again. Said a blood clot was causing the problem. I have been home for five weeks. Awesome proverbs 31 wife caring for me. We have been married for 42 years. My whole chest is sensitive to touch with my shirt on. It is getting better a little bit at a time. Also the area on my leg where they took the vein from but healing. Doctor said I can add 5 pounds a week to pick up. In 2 weeks I will start cardiac rehab and am scheduled with a cardiologist Dr. Chasen here in Lexington. Should be seeing the surgeon one more time next week. I realize most everyone here has heart valve surgeries so thanks for letting my bypass join. Blessings to you all.

Pamela Gregory Hi Eric, glad you came to visit us Heart Valve Warriors! Sounds like you are finally on the mend. Take is slow and steady, listen to your body. I would think there are a lot of similar things you experience since the surgery goes in the same way (except for the leg vein). Cardiac rehab is awesome. They really helped me gain strength and confidence after my surgery
