Just curious if others are aware and noticing what I'm reading more and more about. The importance of proper sleep and its impact on heart health? While meds, nutrition and exercise are well known, it appears sleep is becoming a fourth contributing factor. Maybe it's been and I'm just becoming more aware. Thoughts? 7 months out from triple bp / aortic valve replacement and back at the gym almost full tilt....life's good.

David Hoover I have definitely noticed! Maybe it’s because I have been suffering from chronic severe insomnia for going on 2 years now. My average is around 3 hours. It’s had a huge impact on my quality of life. I haven’t responded well with the different medications prescribed.

Marie Myers I, too, have had issues with sleep over the last several years. I found that meditating while focusing on my slow, calm breathing has helped me. The website HeadSpace is good for learning meditation, and I recommend it. I do occasionally take a 15 mg temazepam for sleep, but I Don’t use it more than 1-2 times per week since it can be habit forming. I sure do feel better after a good night’s sleep, though!
