My husband had AVR April 2015. He has been experiencing side effects of this beta blocker. He didn't have high blood pressure before his first a fib which led them to discover a genetic problem with his valve. Can't he ever get off this med? He is dizzy, lightheaded and now feels short of breath. Cardiologist said his heart is strong. Seems like this pill is causing a whole new set of health problems.

Kenny Knox Hi Kathy, there are different forms of this drug so I'd have your husband ask if there is a type better suited for him. I had the same side effects before switching to a faster release of this med. I found taking faster release, smaller dosage twice a day was better than a slow release, once a day version. I have zero side effects now.
