Phyllis Petersen  After my sister smuggled in a couple of salt packets, the food tasted fine to me. I've heard some people had issues with taste.

Amy Steele  Enjoy your weekend and one extra day, Ken. I'm with Phyllis about the salt. I had my husband bring me salt packets from the cafeteria to make the food palatable. Fortunately, I didn't have problems with fluid retention, or I wouldn't have had him do that... I really wasn't very hungry for most of my stay (5 days) in the hospital though...

Ken Sawicki  Wow, kids, it's obvious I haven't been on here for quite a while. Thank you for the nice well-wishes. I'm about 10 days post-surgery now, and doing pretty well. I'll be posting a new note with details pretty soon. It's just been - if you can believe it or not - busy!
As far as the food goes, of course, I didn't have much appetite the first several days, either. By about the third day the appetite started to pick up. I knew things would taste horrible after the anesthesia (it took at least three weeks for things to taste better after the last surgery), but I held off on the salt and continue to do that and have been using Mrs. Dash instead. Not taking any chances here - not sure how many chances I've got left! In the meantime, things are going pretty well - and I hope they are for all of you, too. Happy Easter, or whatever holiday you celebrate!
