Hello, Wondering if anyone has had a “single jet, very eccentric, seemingly paravalvular regurgitation” (as described by doctor after echocardiogram) after one year checkup post TAVR? I see my doctor on Monday to discuss but wanted to get some of your thoughts.

Susan Lynn Lucille - I haven't seen a condition described as a single jet on this site, is it possible it's referred to by another name? I hope your post resonates with someone here and you get a reply. Good luck with your appointment and please keep us posted!

Lucille Elsberry Thank you for posting. I was looking more into it and apparently the valve is leaking but only mildly. I will just have to be patient and see what the doctor says. It’s just worrisome and I’m just SO tired of worrying!
J Alexander Lassally Eccentric, I think, means it is just a funky angle of the flow, so a sort of personalized flow.
Richard Munson Could single jet just mean a single leak?

Completed my TAVR on 7/14 and released on Saturday 7/15. All went well just feeling a little tired. I’m trying not to worry about everything but finding it hard to do. I’m so worried about having a stroke, I don’t know how likely that is post TAVR. I am on a blood thinner and aspirin. Anyone else have/had the same concerns?

Marie Myers Unfortunately, the risk of stroke is present with TAVR and open heart surgery in general. All we can do is follow the post op instructions, take our meds as directed, and pray for a good outcome. It is hard not to worry about every possible complication, but we must learn to live again without the burden of constant worry.

DeLois Tweedy Lucille, I have been wondering how the TAVR went and how you are doing. Glad to see your post. I too am on Eliquis and a low dose aspirin per day. My TAVR was in June, 2020 and it's still doing ok. I am also on other medications since I have heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. I also have mitral and tricuspid valve issues. I feel as long as you keep your blood pressure in check, exercise lightly (walk) and follow your cardiologist's suggestions, that you will be ok. Unfortunately stroke is a risk with any type of heart issue and surgery.
Try to take a day at a time and enjoy life, worry less. God bless.
Lucille Elsberry Thank you for your comments, it really does help to know we are not alone.

Greg Lewis Hi Lucille! Normally I would say "don't worry, because nothing you do, can have any affect on the outcome"... but I think you should worry a lot! I say this because I worried all the time about many things throughout my heart journey. And none of them happened!! Sooo...the more you worry, the less likely you will get a stroke, or the other million things that could happen. Worry all the time...keeps the bad things from happening. I mean it's just a theory, but it seems to work. 😉😜
Lucille Elsberry I’ll keep that in mind lol Thank you for responding it means a lot!

Valerie Allen Lucille, I had wanted a TAVR procedure but found through testing not to be a candidate. Your recovery should be so much easier. I know there are still concerns but if you have faith in your team that should help tremendously. Be sure to check back in!
Grace Mason Wishing you all the best. Sending prayers for you and your team on Friday
